Yeay... its time for Jogjakarta again!!
Now i would tell about Jogjakarta in a domestic-tourist-point of view,so if you read the previous post, i didn't tell many stories about the tourism object, food and others, but in this post i try to complete the previous one with some story and information. and hope it will help to all of you who want to visit Jogjakarta :)
WHY?
I attend my best friends wedding at Jogjakarta, the wedding it self held on Sheraton Mustika Hotel, near Adisucipto Airport (Jogjakarta Airport), it is 5-star hotels in jogjakarta, with a very beautiful atmosphere and a big ballroom.
WHERE To stay?
i stayed at Ibis Style Hotel, in Jalan Dagen, this hotel near with Malioboro street (is about 800 m only).
this hotel has some facilities such as : Spa and Massage, Swimming Pools, live music in Saturday nights, pool side bar, restaurant, cafe and basement parking. the room rate for this hotel aren't really expensive, for one night room, it will cost about IDR 600k-800k depend on the promotion or the season (peak season will be more expensive).
Next to the hotel,we could find some pedcab driver which ready to assist us to enjoy Jogjakarta street with cheap price and interesting journey. but if you want to go by a walk, it is really nice too.

WHERE To visit?
Malioboro Street
Malioboro Street
in this street we could find many of shops which sell batik, it could be batik cloths, batik fabrics, souvenirs and many things was made from batik. mostly of shops here sells its batik with fixed price. you can directly saw the price in the price tag, and paid for it to the cashier. :)
on the head of the street, we also find Pasar Beringharjo, which is traditional market here, and sells traditional foods, and also any kind Batik with a low price. don't forget to bargain the price while we go for shopping here, if you're lucky, you can get 50% discount from the seller :)
Taman Sari Area
I went there by rent a pedicab (with the driver, for sure) why, just because we can go around the street and enjoyed the side by side of the street. in this street we could find Rumah Batik, the shop of batik which sell batik, with higher quality than in Malioboro (based on the pedicab driver testimony). i found awesome Batik Clothes and Batik Scarf, and guess what, the prices are reasonable and we got 20% discount for all stuff we bought here when we visited. :)
not really far from Rumah Batik, i found the house which sell Batik painting (this place also recommend by pedicab driver). inside the house we could see many batik paintings with some models, objects and color, mostly of the objects, can be a traditional puppet (wayang kulit) or life creature (bird, trees, etc)

my man bought one of the paintings, the object was Rama-Sinta but in the different angle not like an usual painting (nor like the picture below :p), the philosophy behind the painting was faithfully. kinda nice and serious isn't it?
Keraton was become the Jogjakarta King House (Sri Sultan Hamengkubowono X), but nowadays i thought sri sultan live in his own house *hehehe* and the keraton it self, used for any special events in Jogja, and when it wasn't occupied, it can be the tourism object in Jogja.
there are some bangsal (room) in keraton, one and another room have different function, and nowadays its used for display the historical stuff from Jogjakarta royal heritage, and it could be a museum too. i a weekend, we could see the traditional dance performance in Keraton. i didn't know exactly what's the dance name. but the dance was very beautiful (maybe it is serimpi dance??)
the interesting part is, if you are the vintage stuff fans, you'll be very happy to be here, because what, so many vintage stuff are here, such as : iron chair, iron table, chandelier, cupboard, and many more in very vintage and old fashioned way.
WHERE To eat?
since it is only 2 days trip, i didn't go to many restaurant in Jogjakarta. so the recap for my eating place are :
1. Bakmi Jawa and Nasi Goreng, Jalan Dagen
the taste of Bakmi jawa and Nasi goreng (we ordered fried bakmi jawa, and Nasi goreng Babat) was surprisingly delightful and delicious. it is only small stalls, but the foods was hilarious for us.
2. The Ibis Styles Resto.
yes for sure, we ate our breakfast here. the breakfast was very nice, complete and delicious also. we serve ourselves with buffet. many choices of dishes, snacks and drink.
3. Oyot Godong Resto, 3nd floor of Mirota Batik, Malioboro
the restaurant have very edgy concept, it combined with stage for cabaret performance and also the dinning place, some materials are made from wood. the menu on this resto was very funny and creative, such as : Es Perawan Tancep, Es Susu Coklat Mulus, and So on. but the taste of food was average.
4. Jejamuran, Km 10 Magelang Street.
i was obsessed with this restaurant, because Jamur (mushroom) is one of my favorite vegetable (or food?) in this restaurant, we could find anything on menu books were made from mushroom. this restaurant was use Jamur Shitake, Portobelo, Jamur tiram, Jamur Merang, Jamur kancing and soon.. the popular menu in this restaurant are Satay Jamur, Baked Jamur, Tongseng Jamur, and Crispy Jamur. the taste was very delicious and the price was reasonable. i love this resto so much...
HOW can we get there?
if your home town are far away from Jogja, travelling by plane was most recommended, the flight ticket is not really expensive, depends on the season for sure. and when you arrived in Jogja. you ca go by taxi to your hotel, and for the daily transport you can rent a car, with IDR. 300K/ days. or if you just want to go around the Jogjakarta city, taxi and pedicab was a great choice
I thought this post is complete enough, but if you realized, i didn't visit the famous temple in Jogjakarta, such as Prambanan and Borobudur in my 2012 trip, yes because I've ever visited them in 2009 and 2011 so, i didn't put the temples in this post :D
Enjoy the Post
